Carnival Patron
This year’s Prestwich carnival is the first following the retirement of David Curtis.
David did a remarkable job over many years and we will always owe him a great debt of gratitude.
I also want to use this opportunity to pay tribute to the small band of volunteers who work behind the scenes in support of us, without whom the carnival would not be possible.
Despite the difficult financial times and the challenges facing many people struggling to pay the bills there is a new optimism about the future of Prestwich which is a source of great hope.
The carnival provides another opportunity to display our community pride and spirit.
It is always heart warming to see the different generations having so much fun.
I hope there will be a great turnout again this year and we will have another weekend to remember.
I look forward to seeing you on the day.
